A percentage you awarded yourself is a number about your generosity. Two things mitigate it and neither solves it:

Your own words stay on screen next to the model answer, so you are comparing rather than remembering what you meant.
The rule's own code terms are matched literally against what you wrote and shown as hit or missed. It cannot tell whether you were right — but “you never mentioned SKIP LOCKED” is a fact, and facts are harder to mark generously than feelings.

Why the answer is hidden until you commit

Retrieval only strengthens a memory when it is genuinely attempted. A button that reveals the model answer while you are still thinking converts the exercise back into reading, which feels productive and is not. So there are two ways forward from a card: answer it, or press “I can't say it” — which grades it 0 before revealing anything.
